On Civility

Recently I once again found this attitude clouding a discussion. It came down to and returning to and looping to: what an awfull condition poverty is?; and, who would have this condition to exist? Most assuredly no one who is rational, or compassionate. Next step: who/what is responsible? - which is another way of identifying your worldview.
Dennis Prager sets the stage for Supreme Court nominees:

"... most people on the Left are certain that they mean well; therefore their opponents do not mean well. Moreover, liberals tend to assess policy positions on that basis -- are the motives good? -- rather than on the basis of what actually does good."
